This is the part of the site dedicated to keeping you informed about current forensic science-related reports in the news.  You will notice that the content has been divided into categories to help students and professionals hone in on their particular interest or areas of expertise for review and commentary.

In addition to educating readers about contemporary events, forum participants may become involved in helping law enforcement track perpetrators and solve crimes.  In this section, we feature the profiles of crimes and criminals so that their various elements can be studied in detail.  Increasing our understanding of the human and social circumstances which lead to crime will hopefully aid in prevention efforts.

This part of the  Forum also includes a dynamic database of cold cases (unsolved crimes) and in a separate database, detailed information about John/Jane Does around the world.  It is our hope that enterprising students will demonstrate the skills they learn here and help advance theories which solve these crimes.  A similar analytical approach can be applied to advocating for those wrongfully accused and convicted before the availability of today's sophisticated forensic science strategies and techniques.
